Solving for the Missing Piece in our Health Regimens

Solving for the Missing Pieces in our health regimens

The number of us that feel like we are constantly solving ourselves seems to be growing. I see our increased access to information activate us to do more for ourselves.

Naturally, all of us optimizers and solvers step into viewing our wellbeing as a giant puzzle we are constantly working on. Trying a piece with new hope, realizing it doesn’t fit, and fretting over where that missing piece is -  in our sleep, digestion, emotions, hormones…

Paradoxically, more data, more expert consults and more supplements create more missing pieces. We’re tired of trying to piece together all the aspects of being healthy. If you feel like you’re choking on all the health info you’re being forcefed, you’re not alone. We don’t have time to truly digest and benefit from one health trend before we are pressured towards another.

Consider the current context of our health choices:

Conflicting Guidance – Different providers (primary care, therapist, trainer) give advice that doesn’t always align, leaving us confused about what actually works.

Symptom Chasing Instead of Root-Cause Care – Fragmented systems treat issues like fatigue, weight gain, sleep problems, mood swings, or irregular cycles separately, rather than as interconnected signs of systemic shifts.

Dismissal & Underdiagnosis – Midlife concerns like perimenopause symptoms, thyroid dysfunction, or emotional exhaustion are often minimized as “normal aging” or “stress.”

Time Scarcity – We rarely have the bandwidth to research, experiment, and piece together solutions on our own.

Over-Reliance on Quick Fixes – Medications, supplements, or trendy wellness hacks are often suggested without a cohesive, long-term strategy.

Emotional Toll of Uncertainty – The cycle of trying new practitioners or protocols, without real progress, erodes trust in both the body and the healthcare system.

Disconnection Between Mind & Body – Emotional wellness and physiological health are rarely addressed together, leaving gaps in how we understand and manage stress, relationships, and personal growth alongside physical healing.

It’s no wonder we have so many missing pieces.

The solutions to these gaps are integration and personalization. We need to weave together the best fit for our patterns.

So whatever ways you are seeking wellbeing, ensure that it isn’t a protocol, but rather a flexible and adaptive support system for your needs.

Any health education which teaches you to read your body’s signals and to respond to them to resolve symptoms is invaluable. That’s a life skill we should be teaching in elementary school.
