and how Ayurveda would begin to approach them...
All of my friends have been flaked on for my sleep, at some point.
They're annoyed when I choose to stay in - but rest and rejuvenation is how I am able to do my life. It's my secret weapon.
It's the answer when people ask me how I manage to do all I do.
Without solid sleep, my energy tank would be empty. Even with all the herbs and self care, sleep is one of my biggest deposits into that tank.
Sleep is when we rejuvenate all of our tissues, especially before the peak of moonrise.
Too little, and we're going to age faster and be more sick. Too much, and we'll end up with stagnation and procrastination.
Ah, but cell phones, and social media, and Netflix binges keep us "awake."
And all those little internal conflicts keep the mind on, and the pressure to figure things out.
To really support healthy sleep, we would rejuvenate the nervous system, build solid routines, and address stressors. In other words, it's a lifestyle change.
But, you can actually feel a significant shift by just addressing your sleep routine, and by using herbs to support a happy nervous system.
These are easy and effective approaches, so below are my favorite sleep and herb recommendations.
My challenge to you - try these 5 approaches for two weeks straight. It takes about two weeks to develop a new circadian rhythm.
Involving the senses in bedtime ritual helps to set the internal clock. Eventually, we train our nervous systems to downshift gears, when we hear the soundscapes, or smell the aromas, that we've been using before bed.
These little tips are a fun place to start improving your falling, and staying asleep. Obviously, there is so much more to consider.

The best way to step into Ayurveda lifestyle is to get solid on the basics first.
Once you have the foundational principles down, you can build your Ayurveda lifestyle one topic at a time. Maybe you dive into meditation first, or maybe it's emotional wellness. It's all interrelated, so you can't go wrong.
Starting with a solid foundation is key. I hope you'll do so with my introductory 4 week immersion:
