Sex, Creativity & Balance

I once had a client that was a single woman in her late thirties, with a deep desire to become a mother. Despite her social accolades and career success, she was battling anxiety, lacked true emotional intimacy, and suffered from various stress-induced ailments. Of course, it was all interrelated.

As we supported her fertility, she struggled with fear and guilt:

It feels selfish to only focus on my needs.

I feel guilty when I flake on others.

Sometimes, I feel like everyone in my life depletes me.

Her feelings were ones I could relate to as a “caretaker” type; as someone who grew up learning that success means sacrificing personal needs;  and, as the daughter of a woman who sacrificed her personal needs because she thought that was what was expected of her as a wife and mother.

Yet, these thoughts and response patterns were feeding into choices which were decreasing her fertility, her libido, and increasing symptoms in her sex tissues (and other body parts).

The reason we have such high rates of reproductive cancers, infertility, and prostate issues, is because we don't understand how our life choices affect our reproductive health.

It’s rare to encounter people who are aware of, and prioritizes meeting their needs, and at the same time, nurture their loved ones.

Sexual health in Ayurveda relates to this balanced giving and receiving. To how much we fill our life force tank. And to how much we show up for our intentions.

I break it down in this video, below, like so:

why is sex a pillar of health in Ayurveda?

the one unique property of our sex tissues that everyone needs to know about

how depletion is related to libido

why creative expression affects our health

what lack of inspiration has to do with all of this

reactivity to life vs. being rooted in creating a life we envision

why supple and clear are the qualities to aim for

my number one practice to keep my sex and creative energetics feeling good

And the best way to step into Ayurveda lifestyle is to get solid on the basics first.

Once you have the foundational principles down, you can build your Ayurveda lifestyle one topic at a time. Maybe you dive into food first, or maybe it's emotional wellness. It's all interrelated, so you can't go wrong.

Starting with a solid foundation is key. I hope you'll do so with my introductory 4 week immersion:

NO KAMA SUTRA NEEDED.

Healthy sex tissues, and sexual confidence, are closely related to subtle energetics.

It's about pleasure. Feeling like you show up for your ideas and desires. Feeling like you are relating, and living, in the way you intentioned. It's about manifestational power. And yes, all that can also be tied into how you approach the practice of sex itself. But there is so much we can attend to before we sign up for a tantra retreat.

Our physical tissues are affected by all the major factors which determine how good we feel about ourselves. Yeah, that's deep. (just how I like it. sorry, couldn't help myself. lol)

All to say, if we are looking at the health of your "sex pillar" we'd take a look at the energetics in, at least, the following ten areas of your life:

1. Emotional Intimacy

2. Unmet emotional needs

3. Stress

4. Sources of life force/ prana

5. Romantic relationships

6. Sexual practices

7. Self care practices

8. Ability to manifest

9. Self worth

10. Moon phase connection (especially las chicas)

This is the stuff I'm using to support clients with menopause, breast cancer, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility, prostate enlargement, erectile dysfunction, and hyperreactivity - and it's working. Hopefully, after watching the video above, you get why.

We're more than physical in nature, and so is the health of our sex and hormonal rhythms. There are effective holistic approaches to sex, reproductive health, creativity, inspiration, and confidence.

If what you're reading is resonating, I hope you'll be inspired to learn more about this Ayurveda lifestyle.

You can address all of these deeper, more specific, concepts more effectively when you have a solid foundation in the basics. Check out my 4 week intro immersion by clicking this lovely gold button below.
